Manhattan GMAT Practice Test

In the number 1.4ab5, a and b represent single positive digits. If x = 1.4ab5, what is the value of 10 – x?

(1) If x is rounded to the nearest hundredth, then 10 – x = 8.56.

(2) If x is rounded to the nearest thousandth, then 10 – x = 8.564.

Is the product st negative?

(1) s2s < 0
(2)

If x + 2y = z, what is the value of x?

(1) 3y = 4.5 + 1.5z

(2) y = 2

x is the sum of y consecutive integers. w is the sum of z consecutive integers. If y = 2z, and y and z are both positive integers, then each of the following could be true EXCEPT

Rules of consecutive integers
- Sum of consecutive integers is a multiple of the number of integers IF number is odd
E.G:
Set 1 - 1, 2, 3
Sum of Set 1 - 1+2+3=6
Number of integers = 3
6 is a multiple of 3

y = 2z (number of consecutive integers = even)
x = sum of y consecutive integers (since y = even, x IS NOT a multiple of Y)

Six mobsters have arrived at the theater for the premiere of the film “Goodbuddies.” One of the mobsters, Frankie, is an informer, and he's afraid that another member of his crew, Joey, is on to him. Frankie, wanting to keep Joey in his sights, insists upon standing behind Joey in line at the concession stand, though not necessarily right behind him. How many ways can the six arrange themselves in line such that Frankie’s requirement is satisfied?

(n – 2)-1(2 + n)

If n >2 and is substituted for all instances of n in the above expression, then the new expression will be equivalent to which of the following:

Each of the following equations has at least one solution EXCEPT
–2n = (–2)-n
2-n = (–2)n
2n = (–2)-n
(–2)n = –2n
(–2)-n = –2-n

Are both sides equal to each other? Test n = odd, even or zero
